The XXI century knights have a lot of plans after ‘Silver Tatosh’

The ‘Silver Tatosh’ festival passed very well! – stated today at the news conference in Uzhgorod Press Club the organizers of the International Medieval Culture Festival, which was held on May 19-20 in the St. Maklosh Castle in Chynadievo near Mukachevo.

One of the co-organizers Igor Guledza noticed that there were presented the medieval history page of not only the Transcarpathia, but the whole Ukraine. They wanted to show the Middle Ages as pretty fun rather than dark and chivalrous. The authentic music helped to create an entourage. We can say that the fest became really international, because of the Hungary and Slovakia representatives participation. The Germany, Austria and Italy representatives wanted to join as well.

The organizers were very impressed by the youths’ large number presence at the festival. They hope that the festival’s atmosphere will transfer into the young people everyday life. Young people will learn the region’s history and culture with pleasure. This will also help the museum sphere development, because the museum employees complain that visitors do not express a desire to know the history and culture. Although the castle does not have such problems, according to its landlord Yosyp Bartosh, there are a lot of guests, who want to hear not only this place’s legends, but also to feel the St. Miklos castle atmosphere.

As for the future plans, the organizers want to make this festival traditional and extend it – to increase the list of participants to 50 fighters and to expand the culture program. The workshops in which the visitors will be able to participate are in perspective. They say that they are getting ready to the new holiday, but the kind of holiday is still kept in secret.
