Wooden cross-walk reconstruction on Shvabska Street ‘before’ and ‘after’- find 10 differences (PHOTOS)

The emergency wooden cross-walk, which isolates the construction side form the Shvabska Street, was updated after the publication in the ‘Staryi Zamok’ publication several months ago. The pedestrians actually pass it every day, because the construction is conducted close to the pavement. After all the municipal police reacted to the numerous ‘Zamok’ journalists applications and obliged the builders to bring the cross-walk to order.

However, they used unusual boards to repair it in this case, they used wood-particle board (chipboard), which started to crumble and plough down in a short time. It looks like they repaired cross-walk only in order to get rid of complaints. Therefore, cross-walks are once again looking pathetic and most important, not very safe for people. Besides, the neighboring wooden ‘pavement’ is not suitable for moving at all. We do not want event mention about the rubbish in the holes and shabby walk-cross appearance. The city government should more actively respond to the problem since the same picture can be seen in many places in Uzhgorod. But we should not wait until any citizen of Uzhgorod will break himself a leg.
