Monday, May 14, will become the day of international contacts for Transcarpathian National Union of writers.
At 2:00 p.m. a meeting with Ukrainian writers of Slovakia Vasiliy Dacey and Sergei Makara will take place on the premises of the organization (Zhupanatskaya square). They will talk about an international literary festival "Carpatska vatra" (Carpathian bonfire) which will soon be held in Transcarpathia, informs Chas Zakarpattya.
And at 4:00 p.m. the Transcarpathian writers will be visited by the well-known translators and writers – a Lviv citizen Timofiy Gavriliv (German translator) and a Kiev citizen Anna Bagryana (translates from Bulgarian and Macedonian). This time they will talk about Ukrainian literature in the world and foreign literature in Ukraine. Transcarpathian translators who translate into Slovak, Russian and Hungarian will join the discussion too. After all, Transcarpathia used to be one of the largest translation centers in Ukraine. Now, unfortunately, it has lost its ground.
