In every region of the country there will be made open lists of lawyers who can provide free secondary legal assistance to citizens. The corresponding order, confirming the procedures of formation and maintenance of such lists has been signed by the Minister of Justice Oleksandr Lavrynovych, reports Business.
The lists will be posted on the official websites of the major departments of Justice, which will deal with their technical support and maintenance.
The records will contain a surname, first and second names of a lawyer, address of a workplace, contact numbers and e-mail. The tender committee on the selection of lawyers providing free secondary legal assistance will decide who should be included in the lists. Local registries, in turn, will be merged into a common register of lawyers.
Tenders for the right to provide legal assistance according to the Law "On the free legal aid," began in Ukraine on April 23 and will have been completed by June 1, 2012. Those who have passed them successfully, will be held by the state to perform functions beginning from January 1, 2013.
