“Zakarpattyaoblenergo”: on thefts of electricity detected during the last week

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC informs that during the period from 11 to 15 of April this year, the company’s employees revealed 64 facts of electricity thefts.

In particular, they made 47 reports of violations by households and 17 reports of violations by legal entities (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.).

Most cases of illegal interference in the power grid among households over the past week were found Mizhhirya and Tyachiv districts (9 and 8 violations respectively). Most often, electricity was illegally consumed through damaging and removal of seals on metering devices (19 cases).Other frequent violations were damaging of meters, connection of hidden wiring sockets and unauthorized connection via electric meter.

In the legal sector (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.) facts of thefts were detected in 10 districts. Most violations were observed in Rakhiv district (3 cases of electricity theft). Thus, the most popular type of violation was damaging of metering devices (damage to the meter housing, broken glass, etc.), damaging and removal of seals of the energy supplier, and the use of electricity for business activity, which must be paid at the appropriate tarrif.

Also during the last week, Committees to review reports of violation imposed fines totaling UAH 166.97 thousand, of which:

– Among households – for 93.28 UAH;

– Among legal entities – for 73.69 UAH.
