Yesterday, in Rakhiv district, pyrotechnics destroyed 450 explosive devices

Yesterday, pyrotechnics of the Special Rescue Unit, during demining works in Rakhiv district, destroyed an entire arsenal of ammunition. The munitions of the World War II period had been found near the village of Yasinya. The operational-rescue service was informed about it by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region.

Together with officers of the Security Servcie of Ukraine, the pyrotechnics arrived at the scene and removed from the ground 450 munitions. Among them, there were 26 mortar shells of 50 mm caliber, 4 hand grenades and 420 rifle bullets. As the area was remote from residential buildings, all explosive items were destroyed at the scene. The demining works will continue today, April 29.

Rescuers appeal to Transcarpathians! If you find any suspicious metal objects similar to explosive, do not touch them and not try to defuse the bomb. Instead, mark the place of discovery, report it to the authorities, local government, police or call the Rescue Service 101.
