All-Ukrainian literary contest "Word Coronation" once again proves that Transcarpathian literature is bright, genre-varied and interesting. At this year’s contest the writers Alexander Gavrosh and Iris Likovich stood out, Zakarpattya online reports. The former has got a diploma in the nomination "Novels" (his detective adventures in Uzhgorod of the XIX century under the title "Captain Alois" entered the top ten). Irysya Likovich’s novel "Virtualka" (sockpuppet) received a special award from the Austrian Cultural Forum.
We remind that the citizen of Uzhgorod has already got 4 awards in this prestigious competition: the second place for the play "Romeo and Jasmine" (2007), Laureate Diploma for the play "Red Summer In Paris …" (2008), the award for "Editors’ choice" for the children’s story “Galloona-Laluna or Ivan Force on the island of happiness"(2010) and the first prize in the category "A play for children" for the musical drama "Ivan Power’s Circus" (2011).
Irysya Likovich, who comes from Beregovo and now lives and studies in Vienna (Austria), is also not new to the competition "Word Coronation”. Two years ago she received a diploma "Publishers’ Choice-2010" for her novel "Your baby". That is how the works which have not received the award of the jury but were liked and published, are awarded.
In general, Transcarpathians have been awarded at the most prestigious literary competition in Ukraine 11 times.
