Ukrainian women’s Handball team will play the qualifying match for the European Championship of 2016 in Uzhgorod. Our team will play with the Italian team in the SC "Yunist" on March 13, the beginning of the match is at 13:00
According to the National Federation of Handball, the girls will play the first match in Italy on March 10. "The mood is positive. We are going to Italy to win," – the team said.
Currently the team is training in Koncha Zaspa. The head coach Boris Petrovsky hopes that doctors will be able to recover experienced Olga Nikolaenko of the Hungarian "Bekescsaba" to play against Italy. The situation with Daryna Kot from "Karpaty" is much worse. The young star of the Ukrainian championship seriously injured a knee and dropped out for several months.
Together with Boris Petrovsky, his assistants Leonid Ratner and Valery Voinalovych are taking an active part in training The emphasis is on working out actions in defense. The defense failed in first matches of the tournament. In difficult moments, problems in offense would also begin. Then, according to Petrovsky, chaos would begin on the ground, and there was no one who could lead the team in a difficult situation. But now handball-players believe that they can fix mistakes and get back in the fight for the right to play in the European Championship.
By the end of the qualifying tournament, they will need to play not only with Italy, but also with Serbia (June 1-2 in Ukraine) and Czech Republic (June 4 away). They need to win in every game.
