Transcarpathia is the land of special flavor and, of course, winter tourism. In most districts of the region, there are facilities and attractions interesting for guests. In particular, the places for mountain tourism.
According to data obtained from the districts, as of the beginning of December, the facilities in Mizhhirya, Rakhiv and Mukachevo district are reserved almost entirely, in Velyky Berezny and Volovets district – at 70 percent.
According to the monitoring of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration, there are 60 operating ski lifts in Transcarpathia, at the ski facilities of the region there are 35 snow groomers and 45 rentals of ski equipment.
According to Denys Man, the owners of ski facilities are actively using artificial snowmaking, namely they establish snow cannons along the entire length of ski slopes. There are 21 webcams at the ski resorts of the region, using which one can see the amount of snow and natural conditions online.
One of the gems of the winter Transcarpathia is, of course, the famous Dragobrat in Rakhiv district. It is the most high-altitude ski resort in Ukraine, it is situated at the altitude of 1300-1700 m above sea level. The access road from the village of Yasinya to the resort is still being repaired, and there are two more ways to the summit, so one can get there.
Today, vacation at the Dragobrat meadow is one of the cheapest, and the snow there holds until mid-May, allowing to use the potential of the mountains for a long time. Now the resort is developing, most seats for this season are already booked. Dragobrat offers a unique atmosphere of a winter fairy tale. You can see it in our photographs.
