At the Investment Forum "Transcarpathia – Business in the Center of Europe", that took place on October 10 in Uzhgorod, they talked about the development of viticulture and winemaking in Ukraine as a point of growth for the economy.
The industry has huge potential in the domestic market, and since the new law enables legalization of private winemakers, the region expects a big boost to the development of winemaking.
"The theme of the forum is wine growing and winemaking as the most profitable area for investments in Transcarpathia, – Denys Man, the Director of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration’s Department of Economy Development explained. – In June, the Parliament adopted the law that abolished the license for small producers, which allows them to go legal, to become active participants in the economy of our region. And recently, sub-normative acts were adopted that allow to understand the mechanism of this law. This aim of this forum is to meet with winegrowers, to explain the mechanism and procedure," – Man said.
He also spoke about another big goal – the implementation of the project to promote the Ukrainian wine brand.
One of the authors of the law on the legalization of winemaking, People’s Deputy Robert Horvat, believes that the wine sector can give a boost to the entire economy of Ukraine.
