These meteorites are made of nuts and chocolate. The author is our favorite confectioner Valentin Shtefanyo. Today, on the World Chocolate Day, with the help of children, he presented new ideal candy.
As the chocolate history is being made now in Transcarpathia, the delicacies are devoted to three historical, even celestial events – the fall of meteorites.
Not only did they make candy, but also opened a mini-sculpture by Mykhailo Kolodko in honor of the Knyahynya Meteorite – a tiny Hutsul next to a large stone.
The meteorite in the village of Knyahynya is the most famous in Europe. It fell in Velyky Berezny district on June 9, 1866; 286 kg of the meteorite were found in the "Chorni Mlaky" tract; the main mass is kept in the Vienna Museum of Natural History. The "Knyahynya meteorite" candy is made of hazelnut with black chocolate. There couldn’t be anything tastier…
Today, on the Chocolate Day, the meteorite collection has been expanded. Almonds and milk chocolate are the basis of the candy in honor of the meteorite that fell in the village of Kvasy in Rakhiv district. It happened on October 13, 1852; the meteorite, that is, its largest found fragment, weighed about 7 kilograms.
The third meteorite candy was made in honor of the "Carpathian bolide". The celestial body landed in 2001 near the village of Turya Remeta. The shell contained liquid metal. And the candy is made of almonds and milk chocolate.
The sweet meteorites were made today by children, who need care. Valentin regularly arranges master classes for the kids who need attention the most. The children learned to make candies using natural ingredients.
Of course, on the occasion of the World Chocolate Day, we asked the legendary chocolatier Valentin Shtefanyo what chocolate is for him. He replied briefly and succintly: "Chocolate is my friend."
