Today, Wednesday, March 25, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal came with a sudden "inspection" to the main bus station in the region – in Uzhgorod. The occasion was the call of the mother of Transcarpathian killed in the ATO Iryna Tymoshchuk.
The woman complains that they refused to sell her a bus ticket to Beregovo (she lives there and comes to Uzhgorod for treatment). Since the head of the region gave the relatives of the victims his personal contacts with a request address him directly on any problems, Mrs. Iryna immediately informed him that her right to preferential transportation was violated. Vasily Hubal immediately went to the bus station and reported the offense to the police.
As noted by Mrs Iryna, this happens to her for the third time. Vasyl Hubal assured that the response will be strict and within the legal framework.
By the way, the clerk did not explain the reason for refusal to sell a ticket at reduced price, noting that it was a question to the management. The director of the bus station (owned by the enterprise "Zakarpatavtotrans", which is a monopolist in the region) was not in the office.
The head of the RSA appeals to law enforcement authorities to give legal assessment of the actions of the representatives of the company "Zakarpatavtotrans" and to take appropriate measures. Before, the head of the region sent the appeal on this issue to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. And last week, the head of the RSA also appealed to police officers demanding to punish workers of the said company for obstructing journalistic activity that took place at the bus station. Vasyl Hubal will keep the situation under his control.
