The updated rating of higher education institutions in Ukraine based on the Scopus database indicators was published in April 2019. Scopus is an tool for tracking the citations to research papers published by the educational institution or its employees. Uzhgorod National University this year reached high 13th place among 166 higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
Scopus is a bibliographic and abstract database, as well as a tool for tracking citations to the articles published in scientific journals. The database indexes over 20,000 scientific, medical and humanitarian publications. Also, the database includes publications of scientific journals, materials of conferences and book publications. The developer and owner of Scopus is the publishing corporation Elsevier. The Scopus data, among other things, are used for the compilation of some rankings of the leading universities in the world.
