UzhNU has signed a double diploma agreement with the Safarik University in Kosice

On Thursday, July 11, the Rector of Uzhgorod National University Volodymyr Smolanka and the Head of the Solid State Electronics and Information Security Department of the Faculty of Physics Vasyl Rizak made a working visit to Slovakia. They visited the city of Kosice, where one of the most powerful and famous universities in the neighboring country – Pavol Jozef Safarik University – is located.
The fruitful cooperation between the unversities has been going on for decades. And especially in the field of physical science, because both the Uzhgorod and Kosice schools of physicists are very well known in the European scientific space. During the implementation of one of the joint projects, they had the idea to make a special agreement on the development of academic cooperation between universities. Thus, the agreement on the program of double diplomas in physics at the "Master" educational-qualifying level was signed by the rectors of the universities Volodymyr Smolanka and Pavol Sovak.
Therefore, starting from September 1, our physics students will be able to participate in the program and receive European diploma along with a diploma of UzhNU. To that end, they must study in Kosice at least one semester. It should be noted that students will only be charged the standard cost of accommodation in the dormitory.
Volodymyr Smolanka also discussed with the Rector Pavol Sovak and the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Mobility Sylvia Rucinska the prospects of expanding cooperation between the universities in other formats – joint participation in international grant projects, internships of students and teachers, etc.
