Uzhgorod Master Plan re-adopted by the City Council has been challenged in court

Prosecutors challenged in court Uzhgorod City Master Plan adopted by the City Council

Transcarpathian region prosecutor’s office filed with the District Administrative Court a claim to Uzhgorod City Council for invalidation and cancellation of the decision "On approval of the city planning documentation" № 119 dd. 03.10.2016.

Despite the ongoing trial in the Transcarpathian District Administrative Court regarding the appeal against the decision of Uzhgorod City Council of 11.09.15 approving the adjustments to the Master Plan, the City Council session on 10.03.2016 declared its previous decision void and re-approved the same Uzhgorod Master Plan which is contrary to the requirements of current legislation.

It has been established that the specified planning documentation was adopted in violation of applicable conservation, land, and urban planning legislation. 

Therefore, the regional prosecutor’s office filed a motion to secure the claim and to prohibit Uzhgorod City Council and any other officials or state bodies to take any action to implement the said decision of the City Council in terms of disposal of communal lands of Uzhgorod territorial community.
