I’m alway happy to see artists setting their easels on the streets of Uzhgorod and trying to reflect their vision of our city on canvas.
So the other day I was just as happy to see a group of young artists on Kapitulna street. I couldn’t help but take a few photos and find out the details of this art event.
As it turned out, a plein air-competition "Silver Brush of the Carpathians" among students of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts was taking place that day near the cathedral. It was organized by the educational institution together with the Transcarpathian Tourist Server and the ALPFOX Tourist Club.
"The competition was held in the format of open lesson, – the teacher, head of the Department of Drawing Anton Kovach said. – Today nine students decided to take part in the plein air. Later, the jury will review the sketches and determine the winner of the competition.
Later I found out that the jury had decided that the winner was Volodymyr Kozurak.
Take a look at some touching photos. About the beauty of the city, about talented youth.
