This weekend, a significant competition for Transcarpathia has finished – Uzhgorod hosted the XIII International Judo Tournament, Uzhgorod District Judo Federation wrote on their page on Facebook. About 250 athletes representing Azerbaijan, Belarus, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine took part in it.
For two days, boys and girls born in 2000 and 2002 were fighting in the sports complex "Yunist".
It is pleasing that there are three representatives of Uzhgorod District Judo Federation in the team of Transcarpathian region – those are Lev Smagin, Andriy Taran and Ivan Pavlyuchok. Led by the coach Dmytro Smagin, the athletes made tremendous efforts to show the best results. As a result, we have a bronze winner of the International Tournament. Lev Smagin, who was competing in the 66 kg category, had 6 fights and won in 5. Thus, he won the bronze medal. Ivan Pavlyuchok took the 5th place (the 50 kg category) and Andriy Taran took the seventh place (the 46 kg category).
Now, the athletes led by Dmytro Smagin are training for next important events.
