Uzhgorod City Hall won a grant… for cinema

Uzhgorod City Council has won a grant for the implementation of an innovative culture and art project.

The contract for the provision of the grant to the Executive Committee of Uzhgorod City Council for the implementation of the project "Days of New Cinema" was signed yesterday by the Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod Oleksandr Bilak and the Acting Executive Director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation Irina Zhirkova at the premises of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation in Kyiv.

The "Days of New Cinema" project includes three blocks: public movie screenings, an international conference on "Joint production of cinema in the framework of cross-border cooperation" and a specialized scout tour for representatives of film production enterprises.

The total budget of the project is UAH 499,840.00, which will be provided by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

The project "Days of New Cinema" will facilitate the development of a modern film-making infrastructure in Transcarpathia, its main goals are popularization and promotion of Ukrainian cinema, including films made in co-production with foreign partners; identification of ways, methods and tendencies of cinema art development; presentation of the film-making potential of Transcarpathian region to representatives of local and foreign film production companies; creation of favorable conditions for development of cinema art.
