Yesterday, deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council approved the development program of the Transcarpathian Regional Utility Company "Uzhgorod International Airport" for 2021-2025. The program provides for significant funding, as well as huge development plans. What do they really plan to do with these funds? And what are the prospects for the development of the only airport in Transcarpathia?
Transcarpathian deputies yesterday approved several decisions, which, if implemented, will give a chance to hope for the revival of the only airport in Transcarpathia. Those are "Program for the development of the Transcarpathian regional utility company "Uzhgorod International Airport" for 2021-2025", an appeal to the government with a request to allocate about UAH 30 million for the purchase of mechanization equipment for ground handling of aircrafts at the airport (this is essential to ensure certification requirements, uninterrupted scheduled flights to the capital and other cities of Ukraine and Europe, reception and departure of 4C aircrafts (type Boeing 737), and an appeal to the Ministry of Infrastructure to allow Boryspil to transfer some movable property to Uzhgorod airport, which would allow the latter to carry out its operation.
