UkSATSE lab plane tested the equipment at the “Uzhgorod” International Airport

Today, December 20, the UkSATSE laboratory plane arrived at the "Uzhgorod" International Airport and performed a number of test flights to determine the availability of special equipment.
The lab aircraft tested the functionality of the ranging beacon, which was recently mounted and is being operated in test mode at the Uzhgorod airport, – the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal says. – In the future, the beacon will be put into permanent operation, and the results of the experimental flight will be entered into the Air Navigation Guide of Ukraine. These data are used by all the aircrafts that fly through the airspace of our state.
The ranging beacon is the main reference point for aircrafts with a coverage of about 270 kilometers. The beacon installed at the international airport "Uzhgorod" was certified in Europe. Similar devices are used in airports both in Ukraine and abroad.
Moskal told that today the plane had tested approach patterns for the "Uzhgorod airport" both from the territory of Ukraine and from neighboring countries of the European Union.
Recall that a few days ago, the UkSATSE received the certificate of compliance with EU standards from the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA. For the first time in the history of international partnership, the EU opened its sky for a country outside the European Union, in particular in the airspace of Slovakia. This will allow "Uzhgorod" International Airport to resume its full-fledged work.
