Ukraine reduced external debt and increased internal one

In January, the external debt decreased by 1.4% or USD 437 million amounting, as of January 31, USD 30.372 billion against USD 30.809 billion as of December 31, 2014.

This is stated by the Ministry of Finance.

The direct domestic debt in January increased by 1.7% or UAH 8.018 billion from UAH 461.004 billion (USD 29.236 billion) to UAH 469.022 billion (USD 29.028 billion).

The total amount of the direct public debt as of January 31 totaled UAH 959.780 billion (USD 59.400 billion) against UAH 946.819 billion (USD 60.045 billion) as of December 31, 2014.

The publicly guaranteed debt as of January 31 totaled UAH 153.681 billion or USD 9.511 billion (against UAH 153.745 billion, or USD 9.750 billion as of December 31, 2014).

The public and publicly guaranteed debt as of January 31 totaled UAH 1,113.462 billion, or USD 68.912 billion (as of December 31, 2014 – UAH 1,100.564, or USD 69.795 billion).

As reported, in 2014, the foreign debt rose by 10.3%, or USD 2.877 billion, amounting, as of December 31, USD 30.809 billion (against USD 27.932 billion as of December 31, 2013).

The direct domestic debt in 2014 increased by 1.8 times, or UAH 204 billion drom UAH 256.960 billion (USD 32.148 billion) to UAH 461.004 billion (USD 29.236 billion).
