In all 25 settlements of Transcarpathian region, which were de-energized on Wednesday (4.01) due to bad weather, electricity supply was resumed by evening. As of 9.00 on Thursday, there have been no other blackouts. During the night, snow plowers were removing snow on the main transport arteries of Transcarpathia.
Traffic of passenger cars through the four passes on the administrative border of Transcarpathian region is free, there are no congestions. Traffic of trucks on the highways "Kyiv – Chop", "Mukachevo – Rohatyn", "Uzhgorod – Sambir" and "Khust – Dolyna" and on the four passes remains limited until the weather improves.
– Two of the six cars, that got blocked last night between the village of Vilshany (Khust district) and the village of Mereshor (Mizhhirya district) due to an avalanche, have been released, the other four (two passenger cars and two vans) remain snowbound – Hennadiy Moskal said.
– Nobody was injured by the avalanche, drivers and passengers spent the night at a nearby sawmill. Special vehicles were sent to free the cars.
Regular buses (except to several high mountain villages) are running in normal mode, there are problems with delivery of food. The region is gradually recovering from yesterday’s snow disaster and preparing for a possible worsening of weather conditions in the coming days.
