"Given the public outcry, the materials of official investigation, consultations with local authorities, reports received by the Ministry, I have taken the decision on dismissal of a number of heads of local Ministry of Internal Affairs offices." The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov wrote this on his page in Facebook.
"Heads of police offices in Cherkasy region (Boyko), Rivne region (Chaika), AR Crimea (Avrutsky), Transcarpathian region (Turday), the city of Odesa (Vershnyak) have been dismissed.
I am not disclosing the names of any of those who lobbied these appointments, referring to professional qualities of the appointed persons and social need for such personnel decisions. The responsibility is still on me.
I will just say to high political lobbyists and others – every one of you made a mistake as I did. Therefore, let’s make the right conclusions and supress our hunder for political personnel appointments. Yesterday I established in the Ministry of Internal Affairs the special Personnel Committee – emotionally and politically unbiased.
There have been and, unfortunately, there will be mistakes. It is important to create a mechanism for quick fixes."
Recall, March 6, under public pressure, the head of the Transcarpathian MIA Office Vasyl Turday wrote a statement for resignation.
