Transcarpathians knew how to build 300 years ago

One of the smallest wooden churches in Transcarpathia today is located in the village of Novoselytsia in Vynogradiv diistrist, the "Zakarpatska Pravda" wrote. One of its features is the wall painting that makes this church a unique art memorial in Ukraine.

It is composed of oak bars, without a single nail. The church was built by the folk craftsman Kochalovych. The whole wall painting is a monument of the XVII century; in late XVIII – early XIX century, over the entire eastern wall they carved a new Rococo iconostasis, which has preserved poorly. The painting of the 12 saints, painted in 1673 by the artist Ivan Shvankov by the order of Yura Ivashch, has preserved better.
