Transcarpathians are suspected of preparing a terrorist attack

Kyiv Local Prosecutor’s Office №2 has notified two Transcarpathians detained in Kyiv with 6.5 kg of explosives and ammunition that they are suspected of preparing a terrorist attack.

Today, the Darnytskyi District Court in Kyiv upheld the request of the local prosecutor’s office to impose on the suspects in the criminal proceeding a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without bail.

The actions of the abovementioned persons are classified under Part 1 of Art. 14, Part 2 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As you know, on November 12, 2017, in the parking lot near a shopping center in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained two young men, and found in their car five blocks of a plastic substance and 10 items similar to detonators. The detainees were notified of being suspected of illegal acquisition and storage of explosives and ammunition in accordance with Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings continues.
