Transcarpathians are offered money, but they will not take it

   On Tuesday, May 14, there was the meeting on the implementation of the pilot project to introduce state regulation of prices for medicines to treat patients with hypertension. The meeting was attended, in particular, by the head of RSA Oleksandr Ledyda, his deputy Ivan Kachur, Head of the Regional Health Care Department Roman Shnitser, heads of district departments of health care, representatives of pharmaceutical network of the region, physicians.

  Pursuant to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministrs, the pilot project that provides for partial reimbursement of medicines costs for people with hypertension is being implemented in the region. Yes, today 157 pharmacies of the region (almost 24%) are involved in the pilot project, more than 80,000 patients have been involved, nearly 122,000 prescriptions have been issued.

   – It is very important project for the region and for the country as a whole. Indeed, 60% of mortality are related to cardiovascular disease – Roman Shnitser said. – Therefore we have to make efforts to engage 100% of pharmacies to participate in the the pilot project. Also we need to implement a strong information campaign among patients to fully use the facilities of the project.

   A total of 5.4 million hryvnias will be provided by the government in 2013 for reimbursement of medicines costs. Within four months of this year the region has already received 1,183,000 UAH. Out of this amount, 206.7 thousand have been used. 

   Based on the results of the meeting, an appropriate instruction on the implementation of the project in the region will be issued.
