Transcarpathian schools have the opportunity to join the “Info-media literacy” project

Participating teachers will receive info-media literacy training and materials to integrate the relevant skills into their lessons. The purpose of the project is to teach students to critically perceive information, to resist manipulation, to realize the value of high quality information in the context of school education.
The Council of International Research and Exchanges (IREX) invites schools from district centers, local communities, towns, villages, and cities from all regions of Ukraine (except regional centers) to participate in the project. Currently, 400 schools and more than 1,100 teachers from all regional centers of Ukraine are participating in the project. In 2019, 15 Uzhgorod schools have joined the project and are already implementing information literacy in their lessons.
Teachers who teach history in grades 8-10, Ukrainian language and literature in grades 8-9, and art in grade 9 are invited to participate in the contest. During the selection of participants, the organizers will give preference to applications from a team of teachers of those subjects who wish to join the project and their motivation. The selected schools and their staff will receive from the project team confirmation that they have been selected. By September 2020, new project teachers will receive special training in integrating information literacy into lessons. The electronic project materials will be provided to the teachers after the trainings.
The selection of participants runs from February 7 to February 25.
