As part of the working trip to Transcarpathian region, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, the President’s Office informs.
The director of the institution Ivan Mykyta showed the Head of State the concert hall.
According to him, it can accommodate 500 spectators and has unique acoustic properties. One of the most valuable things in the Philharmonic is the old Czech organ. In the past, this building housed the synagogue of the Orthodox Ashkenazi Jewish community.
Volodymyr Zelensky also inspected the facade of the Philharmonic.
Ivan Mykyta said that the building, which was erected in 1904, needed major repairs.
The President stressed that the restoration of the building of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic would be included in the National Program "Big Construction" in culture for the next year.
