Transcarpathian Party of Regions members left the party, disbanded the PR faction and called Ledyda to resign (Statement)

The statement of the authorized representative of the Party of Regions in the Transcarpathian Regional Council Igor Svyshcho on the withdrawal of the deputies from the Party of Regions and the dissolution of the Party of Regions faction in the Transcarpathian Regional Council.

The text of the statement in full:

"Dear Transcarpathians!

In 2010, running for deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, we, as members of the Party of Regions, took responsibility and promised voters to do everything possible to ensure that the life of our region would always be stable, safe and prosperous. That is haw we visioned it and what we aspired to.

However, as has become clear from the recent events in Ukraine, the leadership of the party, which we represent, and whose policy we trusted, put the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian statehood in danger, betrayed the basic ideas and principles of the largest political force, which Ukrainians trusted in.

We do not see the opportunity to continue working for our voters in the ranks of this political force, therefore, we, deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, members of the Party of Regions faction, announce the withdrawal from the Party of Regions and dissolution of the faction. We urge our fellow deputies from the councils of all levels to join us, leave the ranks of the Party of Regions and announce the dissolution of the factions.

Also, we urge the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda to resign from his post. We believe that this move is the only right way now.

Sincerely,

Igor Svyshcho,

The authorized representative of the Party of Regions faction in the Transcarpathian Regional Council"
