Transcarpathia is waiting for the decision on holding of international winter skiing competitions in Volovets district

The "Borzhava" complex is waiting for the FIS decision, the Glavkom reported.

At the initiative of the management of the "Borzhava" ski resort, the procedure for filing the relevant application to the International Ski Federation (FIS) was conducted and a visit of the FIS inspector for the inspection of the trails on the Mount Hymba (the village of Pylypets) for their certification for conducting of international FIS competitions was organized. This was reported on the official website of the Skiing Federation of Ukraine.

On October 20-21, inspector Martin Kupco, together with the FIS technical delegate Igor Sidorko, carried out the homologation of the trails. The homologation certificate (for compliance with the standards of the International Ski Federation) will allow to submit applications for international FIS rating competitions of different levels. In particular, it will be possible to hold skiing competitions in slalom, giant slalom and super giant. The height difference is respectively: slalom – 197 meters, giant slalom – 305 meters, super giant – 380 meters. It is noted that back in 2010, the Mount Hymba was considered as one of the potential options for planning skiing competitions under the project "Olympic Hope-2022".
