Today, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office visited Transcarpathia on a working visit

On Monday, December 10, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and the Tripartite Contact Group Martin Sajdik came to the region with a working visit, the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.
It was not the first visit of Mr. Ambassador in Transcarpathia, so this time he was interested in the process of decentralization in the region and general trends in the region’s development.
– We receive information mainly from the media, as well as from the central government, but it’s important to see what the situation is on the ground, – Martin Sajdik said. – So I am here now and happy to meet with the leadership of the regional administration.

As a member of the Trilateral Contact Group on the Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in the East of Ukraine, Martin Sajdik was interested in the experience of resolving controversial issues in the multinational and multicultural Transcarpathia.
– It is important to know whether your experience can be useful to us, since the processes taking place in Minsk are extremely complex, and many controversial factors have to be taken into account, – the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office said, asking about implementing the provisions of educational law in Transcarpathia.

According to Martin Sajdik, this is not his last visit to Transcarpathia.
