Folk weather forecast: June 4 if the Day of the martyr Basilisk. This day in ancient times was considered a nightingale day. Our ancestors would go to listen to the singing of the nightingale, they believed that "a good morning starts with birds singing." If on the Basilisk day, nightingale sings all night, the day will be fine. And if on that day honeysuckle smells good, there will be rain. On June 4 our ancestors would watch insects: if they saw many spiders and horse-flies, it meant there would be a good harvest of cucumbers. Strong mildew also predicted a good harvest.
