Today, October 19, People’s Artist of Ukraine Fedir Manaylo would turn 106 years old. On this occasion, his grandaughter, the director of the memorial house – museum of the artist Victoria Manaylo-Prykhodko organized the Open Day in the institution located in Uzhgorod at Drugety st., 74.
We and sophomore students of Uzhgorod College of Arts were the first to come. Visitors plunge into the atmosphere of the artist’s life already on the stairs, where there are old photos. I will say that visiting the exhibition of the artist and the house, where he lived and worked, are very different things. Canvas, easel, famous decorated melons, letters, books. There is also antique furniture designed by the artist himself.
I am deliberately not telling more details, because you have to see it. In this way, you will honor Fedir Manaylo, whose works, along with those of Adalbert Erdelyi and Yosyp Bokshay, became essential in the development of Transcarpathian art.
