Three people were rescued in a fire in Uzhgorod

At night, rescuers received a report of a fire on Voloshin street, in the city of Uzhgorod. The basement of a private residential building was on fire.

Firefighters of the 14th and 15th state fire and rescue units of the city of Uzhgorod were sent at the scene.   In total, three units of main and auxiliary equipment and 12 personnel were employed.

As it turned out, when the fire started to burn, there were two people in the house and 2 more in the basement.  It was the latter who noticed the fire. One of the men woke up in the middle of the night because of the smell of smoke and immediately started looking for his friend, who was in another room. Making his way around the smoke-filled room, he found and immediately took him out outside. Outside, it turned out that the 60-year-old Victor had suffered significant burn injuries.

At that point, rescuers already arrived at the scene and immediately began exploring it. From the outside, it was evident that the smoke had filled the rooms of the rooms above the basement. Chief of crew of the 14th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Uzhgorod Andriy Shcherba, together with senior firefighter Volodymyr Henyuta, entered the premises. There, in a smoke-filled room, they found two homeowners born in 1934 and 1936. They brought one of the women to the window and handed her to the driver to the 15th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Uzhgorod Artur Koval, who was outside. Then, they carried the other woman out of the danger zone.

All three victims were handed over to the doctors, who had also arrived at the scene, and hospitalized at the medical facilities of Uzhgorod.

The fire destroyed waste and some household items. The cause of the fire is to be established.
