This summer nearly 85,000 Transcarpathian students will be sent to summer camps

June 1, in Ukraine, the summer health campaign will begin.  On the first day of summer, children’s health and recreation facilities in Transcarpathia will open. The head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Regional State Administration Vitaliy Erfan told about the status of preparation and plans for the campaign.

   – In 2013 the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych instructed to provide quality and safe summer vacation and recreation of children. Therefore, regional, district and municipal interagency committees were established in the region to monitor the work of the facilities and to study the conditions for vacation and recreation of Transcarpathian kids. In April they studied the status of preparedness for summer health campaign.

   This year Transcarpathian school children, i.e. children from 7 to 17 years, will rest and have their health improved in 575 children’s institutions. In general, this year they plan to attract more than 42 million hryvnias for the health campaign. In particular, from the regional budget – 15.4 million, which is 9.5 million more than last year. Overall, 84,636 children will receive health and recreational services (57% of the total). Notably, more than 800 children of privileged categories and 80 gifted and talented children will be covered by recreation (at least 21 days) at the expense of the regional budget, – Vitaliy Erfan said.
