Chop moved from dead center on the problems of water supply, which has been persisting in the border city for years. The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal initiated the meeting of the city officials and representatives of Lviv railway.
Recall that the water utility serving Chop is controlled by local office of Lviv railway, and an intermediary between this office and customers is the utility company "Tisa", which also provides the water supply services.
In recent months the railway has repeatedly threatened to cut off water supply, and from time to time would put these threats into actions. The most recent termination of water supply was called by the Mayor of Chop Galina Tsar "blackmail". The railway company explain that the "Tisa" has debts to the water utility but doesn’t want to talk to the local authorities to find the solution of the problem.
So the two meeting for the parties was organized by the head of the region – in order to finally find the way to solve the problem that affects thousands of the city residents. He suggested to find a way to change the situation fundamentally. The solution may be the transfer of the water utility to the City Council.
Vasyl Hubal initiated etablishment of a working group to formalize the transfer. And the dispute between the utility company "Tisa" and the railway company over the debts are to be settled in court.
The head of the RSA ordered not to delay each of these cases in order to finally resolve the long-standing issue with water supply in Chop.
