The Ukrzaliznytsya plans to launch the promised train Mukachevo-Budapest by the end of the summer. This was announced on his Facebook page by the acting chairman of the "Ukrzaliznytsya" PJSC Yevhen Kravtsov.
According to the head of the Ukrzaliznytsya, in the near future, a special boarding platform will be built specifically for this train. "At the moment, the procedure for the approval of the construction project is underway, we plan to commence the work in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, we are already working on the train time-table and setting the tariffs", – Yevhen Kravtsov said.
He also said that in addition to the construction of a new platform, it is necessary to arrange about 40 km of European standard gauge track. All works are planned to be completed by the end of summer 2018. "In the future, we plan to introduce a direct railway connection via the narrow gauge track to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and other countries of the European Union," – Yevhen Kravtsov wrote.
It is planned that the train Mukachevo-Budapest will travel the distance of about 400 km approximately in 6 hours. Its route will run through the Hungarian cities of Debrecen and Nyiregyhaza.
