The support campaign “Crimea is Ukraine” is starting in Transcarpathia

On Tuesday, March 11, the "Medical Aid Committee of Transcarpathia" charitable organization announced on its website and social networks the initiation of the campaign in support of Crimean residents:

The Medical Aid Committee in Transcarpathia organizes on March 15 at 18:00 (the venue is to be confirmed) the campaign in support of Crimean residents. At the event, they plan to announce the establishment of the coordinating body to help refugees from CAR, to hear opinions of scientists, government officials and representatives of NGOs on the events in Crimea, to conduct live coverage of the event on TV. The group "Hudaky" and the chamber choir "Cantus" have already agreed to join the campaign! If you have ideas and suggestions, write in the comments section or e-mail at: camzua@gmail.com

Within just one day, the proponents of the campaign received many suggestions, made first preparatory steps and released the preliminary results:

"More and more people are joining to the proposed campaign to support Crimean residents, so now we have called it the opened public initiative to support Crimean residents "Crimea is Ukraine". This public initiative will take place on Saturday, March 15, at 18.00 in the Ilko Gallery, the premises of which will be provided for this campaign free of charge. There will be on-line broadcast of the event on YouTube, so anyone can participate in the campaign over the Internet.

One of the main goals of the event is to create a coordinating body in the Transcarpathian region to help people who leave Crimea and looking for a safe place for themselves and their families. The format of the event is as follows: speeches of scholars, experts, public figures, representatives of Transcarpathian authorities, speeches of advocates and representatives of other regions of Ukraine (such as the Crimea) through online communication. Residents of Crimea will address to the Ukrainian community. Transcarpathian artists will take part in the campaign: the group "Hudaky Village Band", the Chamber Choir "Cantus", the Modern Dance Studio "Blitz."

Representatives of civil society organizations, students, activists of the Euromaidan have already agreed to join the campaign. We are looking forward to further proposals and initiatives – do not waste time, contact us now! However, please note that we do not intend to turn this event into election campaign for interested political forces.
