This week, in Kyiv there was the nationwide competition in English language. The Uzhgorod National University alumnus proved to be the best among the nearly 60 participants – representatives of universities across Ukraine. The 4th year student of the Foreign Languages Institute of UzhNU Marina Kostik won the competition based on the results of 6 competitive challenges.
"While I was talking with the contestants and while performing challenges too, it became clear to me that our institution provides training, which is much better than even that of Kyiv universities!I can definitely say this, particularly in relation to theoretical subjects," – Marina said.
Students had to prove their knowledge around whole "philological front." There were both creative and purely theoretical tasks. And also academic ones – to prove the overall level. Thus, contestants wrote essays, performed theoretical tasks, translated audio recordings, discussed and proved their knowledge of English and American literature.
By the way, general education, which actually makes a truly intelligent person, is a special feature of the Uzhgorod Institute. To prove this, this year’s graduates will receive diplomas where, in addition to knowledge of the basic language and world literature, the knowledge of another foreign language will be indicated.
Meanwhile, Marina Kostik, who was recognized the smartest among Ukrainian "English-speaking" students, is reexamining the overwhelming experience gained in Kyiv, saves addresses of new friends from around the country, and of course thanks her teacher of the basic subject – Olga Kishko.
