The regional medical institutions of Transcarpathia receive 6 times more money for medicine than the district ones

At the board meeting of the Health Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, which took place this week on Wednesday, medics summed up the results of 2012. The head of the department Roman Shnitser presented the detailed analysis of the health situation in the region in 2012.

In his report, Roman Ivanovich said that the main indicators of the population health in the region, compared to the same period of the last year, tend to improve. In particular, the birth rate has increased (from 14.8 to 15.34) and the mortality has decreased. Accordingly, there is an increase in the natural population growth rate to +3.65 (compared to +3.1 per 1000 people). Also over the past three years the decrease of maternal, perinatal and infant mortality has been recorded.

Among the positives moments – the provision for hospitalized patients. The average amount of costs for medicines in district hospitals is 18.1 UAH (twice exceeding the corresponding figure throughout the country), and in regional institutions – 112 UAH per one bed day.
