The regional Hungarian Drama Theatre together with actors from Budapest will present “Hubertus”

On November 3, in the Transcarpathian Regional Hungarian Drama Theater, there will be the premiere of the play "Hubertus" by Miklos Zelei. The production is a joint project of the Beregovo theater and the Budapest Chamber Theater.

The performance is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Soviet invasion to Hungary (autumn 1956). The events take place in Budapest in 1957-1989 and begin dramatically – with the burial of the revolution activists.

"The Soviet system, using various psychological methods – like lying, manipulation of mass consciousness, repressive machine – tried to break the people’s will to resist, to break the hope for changes. The drama "Hubertus" raises issues as old as the world, like the deception of people, but also themes of love and loyalty that hover against the Hungarian history of the second half of the twentieth century" – the theater announceed.

The beginning of the performances is at 18.00.
