The region is preparing for the Day of Unification of Ukraine

On January 22, at 10.00, the activities to mark the Day of Unification of Ukraine and the 70th anniversary of the Transcarpathian region within the Ukrainian state will begin on Narodna Square in Uzhgorod.

Leaders of the region and diplomats, representatives of the army and the clergy, scholars and cultural figures, public activists will take part in the celebration.

After greeting speeches, there will be a ceremonial laying of flowers at the monument to the Ukrainian Prophet – Taras Shevchenko, then the convoy will march to the monument of Augustin Voloshin to pay tribute to the president of Carpatho-Ukraine, the father of Ukrainian revival in Transcarpathia, who fervently believed in the unity of our region with the rest of Ukraine.

The celebration of the national holiday will continue with a number of activities throughout the region, including the grand special cancellation of the new stamp dedicated to the Day of Unification of Ukraine. The event will take place at 14.30 in the lobby of the RSA building. There, visitors will also be able to see a thematic exhibition of Uzhgorod club of philatelists, which will open on January 20 at 14.00.
