The publication of the Museum Calendar was launched in the Uzhgorod skansen

In 2017, the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life decided to launch the annual publication of the Museum Calendar. It is intended to promote various fund collections of the museum.

The theme of the calendar for 2018 is the traditional folk costumes of Transcarpathia of the late nineteenth and the first half of the twentieth century. The director of the museum V.Kotzan and the publishing house of Oleksandra Harkusha worked on the design of the calendar. During 2014-2016, several demonstrations of traditional folk costumes took place in the museum. Students of the Historical Faculty of Uzhgorod National University and photographer Yaroslav Makar were involved in this activities. Traditional folk costumes, the atmosphere of an old Transcarpathian village and the professional work of the organizers allowed to prepare a high-quality, colored illustrated publication about one of the important sections of the cultural heritage of our people.

The museum calendar will promote the introduction to the scientific application and popularization of the folk costumes from the museum’s stock collection. It will become a good present for Uzhgorod citizens, Transcarpathians, guests of our region, friends of the museum.
