November 23, the CEO of "Wikimedia Ukraine" Yuri Perohanych with the entrepreneur Andriy Baloha presented to journalists in Mukachevo a joint project for promotion of Transcarpathia through a global encyclopedia "Wikipedia".
Competition "Writing about Transcarpathia together" will be held from November 23 to December 23 in 3 categories:
- for the greatest number of quality articles on Transcarpathia in the Ukrainian Wikipedia;
- for the greatest number of high-quality photos of Transcarpathia in the Ukrainian Wikipedia;
- for the greatest number of quality articles about Mukachevo in the Ukrainian Wikipedia;
Accordingly, the winners will receive such prizes:
- 2 tablets Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T 32GB Doc (TF700T-1I041A) Champagne gold
- camera Canon EOS 1100D 18-55 DC III KIT
- other prizes and souvenirs
The competition is open to all comers, regardless of age. To take part a participant must register in the Ukrainian Wikipedia (if not registered earlier), specifying a valid e-mail address.
Executive Director of "Wikimedia Ukraine" Yuri Perohanych imposes considerable hope for competition "Writing about Transcarpathia together" because it is the first regional project of this type, thus there is hope that it will be an example for other regions.
