In late 2017, by the decision of the NERC, new tariffs for water supply and drainage in Uzhgorod were approved. Residents of multi-apartment houses will pay UAH 21.08 per cubic meter of water, until now the price remained at UAH 19.50 per cubic meter. The price of water for the private sector will also rise: from UAH 18.63 to UAH 20.10 per cubic meter.
"The increase of the tariff is due to the increase of the minimum wage. Also bringing the cost of the tariff components, other than electricity, into conformity. There has been a rise in the cost of fuel and lubricants, coagulants, chlorine, etc." – Stanislav Kartashov said.
The new tariff will be put in force after the publication of the decision of the NERC in the "Uriadovy Kuryer" and the official announcement on the site of the Uzhgorod Vodokanal.
Also, the director of the communal enterprise assured that the price of water in Uzhgorod would not be further altered due to rising cost of electricity for commercial structures from January 1, 2018 by 9.5%. Although electricity accounts for almost half of the tariff for water supply and drainage.
