Law enforcers seized from an Uzhgorod resident almost 200 poppy stalks. The plants were sent for examination
Uzhgorod policemen recorded the illegal cultivation of narcotic plants. Poppy stalks in amount of 188 pieces were found near the house of a 36-year-old resident of Uzhgorod.
The plants were seized in the presence of witnesses and sent for examination.
The police started criminal proceeding over this incident under Part 1 of Art. 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Illegal planting or cultivation of opium poppy or cannabis." The criminal acts are punishable by a fine of up to fifty tax-free minimum incomes, or arrest for up to six months or restriction of liberty for up to three years.
