The police detained three men who had killed a person for attempted car arson

The three men, who killed a person for attempted car arson in Rakhiv, were notified of being suspected

On December 23, in the morning, in Rakhiv, two men tried to burn a car "Audi A6" in the yard of a private house; they were caught in the act by the owner of the car, his friend and his father. During the showdown, one of the arsonists managed to escape. The other one was taken to the intensive care unit of Rakhiv district hospital with serious injuries and bullet wounds and later died there.

At 23.00, the men were notified of being suspected of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (grievous bodily harm that caused the death of the victim). It is punishable by imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.

In addition, the police seized from the owner of the car an object resembling a firearm, and from his friend – a "Makarov" pistol which is listed as stolen. The seized weapons were sent for examination.

The court imposed on the car owner and his friend a pretrial restraint in the form of detention with the possibility to be released on bail in amount of 50,000 UAH, and on the father of the car owner – detention with the possibility to be released on bail in amount of 40,000 UAH.
