Officers of Transcarpathian Office for Combating Organized Crime recently received operational information that in Khust a group of criminals with firearms were preparing a robbery of a local entrepreneur.
Identities of the attackers were established, they were taken under discreet operational control. It was decided to detain the bandits red-handed. At the scene of the crime, the police organized an ambush and one of the gangsters was arrested right in the house, where he had entered by breaking the glass in a window, with a view of taking possession of the money.
During the arrest, the attacker, a 36-year-old resident of the village of Bushtyno in Tyachiv, was carrying a 20 caliber shotgun with six cartridges, a short crow-bar and cloth gloves.
Later in the yard, the police detained the second participant of the robbery – a 16-year-old resident of Bushtyno, who in a jacket pocket had a plastic bag with 20 grams of marijuana. On the street near the house, there was a VAZ-2102, inside of which there was the third offender – a 34-year-old resident of Bushtyno. Under the driver’s seat in the car the police found and confiscated a hunting knife like a machete.
The detained trio confessed that they had been preparing for a robbery in order to take the victim’s money. Criminal proceedings over this fact have been initiated, the circumstances of the crime are being established by the investigator.
