Officers of Mukachevo criminal police received the information that a 46-year-old resident of Mukachevo was selling drugs in the city.
Yesterday, November 17, the police made a control purchase and recorded the fact of sale of narcotic substance – opium. The resident of Mukachevo sold about 10 ml of opium concentrate for 400 UAH.
Law enforcement officers found out that the man was a drug user and had a criminal record for the sale of these substances. The man refused to tell about the origin of the opium.
The drugs were seized and sent for examination. The man is arrested under Article 208 of the CCP of Ukraine.
A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, production, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances or their analogues). Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing the channels for the supply of narcotic substances to the detainee. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
