The Parliamentary Committee will consider the issue of renaming of the city of Mukacheve to Mukachevo

Mukachevo City Council received this information from the Committee. Thus, on September 21, the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on State Construction, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, during which the issue of renaming of the city of Mukacheve will be considered.

The decision, which was initiated by the Mayor Andriy Baloha, was unanimously approved by the deputies of Mukachevo city council in late March. The decision was also supported by the Transcarpathian Regional Council.At the same time, they sent a petition to the Parliament of Ukraine to rename the city of Mukacheve in Transcarpathian region to Mukachevo.
